For us as a family with two children, ages 5 and 8, it was precisely this contrast that made it so special: While the kids ran barefoot through the sand at the Leading Family Hotel Bär, built sandcastles, and played with water, we gazed out at the mountains. A little beach vacation, a little mountain vacation—and, above all, plenty of time together.

Before long, our two children were completely engrossed in the sand—in the truest sense of the word.
At the Hotel Bär’s Beach Club, there’s fine sand, water, and plenty of space for creative play. Our kids didn’t need any entertainment or a set schedule. They just got right to it: sandcastles went up, moats were dug, and little canals turned into homemade rivers.
For our 5-year-old, the sand was the perfect playground for digging and building. Our 8-year-old, on the other hand, wanted to tackle bigger projects. So they planned, dug, and experimented together.
And of course, before long, we parents were right in the thick of it, too.
When We Suddenly Started Building Sandcastles Again
The best part about the Beach Club for us was that we weren't just sitting there waiting for the kids to keep themselves busy.
We became part of the fun.
Together, we built sandcastles, created little streams, and held little competitions in the sand. It was exactly these moments that made the day special for us.
Because, really, the Beach Club isn’t just about sand and water. It’s about spending time together as a family. The kids decide what to play—and the parents just join in.
It felt pleasantly uncomplicated.

Our personal highlight was definitely the scenery.
In front of us, sand and water; all around us, the Tyrolean Alps. Usually, people associate beaches with the sea—but here, that beach vibe meets a completely different landscape.
This contrast is especially exciting for kids. They can play barefoot in the sand while marveling at the imposing mountains.
For us parents, it was exactly this mix that made the Beach Club so special
New friendships are formed
Something else we noticed: Children at the Beach Club quickly start playing together.
A sandcastle suddenly becomes a group project, and a moat turns into a shared adventure. It hardly matters what language another child speaks. Building and playing together works even without many words.
In any case, our kids were right in the thick of things in no time and had no trouble at all including other children in their play.

For us, the Hotel Bär’s Beach Club is a perfect example of just how unique a family vacation in the Tyrolean Alps can be.
For families with children who love variety, this combination is something special. But what we liked most of all was that the Beach Club isn’t just a place where kids are kept busy.
It’s a place where parents and children can play together.
