Children's Ski School for Ages 2 and Up
Smiley’s Toddler Ski School is the children’s ski school for the very youngest at the Original Kinderhotels Europa. Unlike a traditional children’s ski course, which usually doesn’t start until age three or four, this program is designed for children as young as two. The focus isn’t on perfect technique. The little ones discover the snow, get used to ski boots and skis, and develop a feel for the equipment through play.
The practice area is tailored specifically to this age group: a gently sloping hill with smileys, tubes, small bumps, and other fun obstacles. If winter is uncooperative, snow cannons ensure that the course goes ahead anyway.
Short distances, lots of fun.
- Short walk: It’s just a short walk from the hotel to the practice slope—no more than about 300 meters. No shuttle, no ski bus with a toddler and all your gear.
- Magic carpet instead of a T-bar lift: Conveyor belts safely transport the little skiers to the top of the practice slope.
- Small groups: A maximum of five children per ski instructor, so that every child gets the attention they need.
- Lunch together: At lunchtime, the young skiers eat together with their ski instructors; drinks are provided.
Why choose a family hotel with a ski school right next to the hotel?
For children under four, logistics often determine whether a ski vacation will be relaxing or exhausting. If the ski school is right next to the hotel, you can avoid the hassle of navigating the town with a stroller, skis, and a helmet, as well as the struggle to find parking at the ski resort. The child starts the lesson well-rested and is back at the hotel quickly after lunch—in time for a nap or to head to childcare.
That’s exactly why Original Kinderhotels Europa has defined the distance to the practice slope as an integral part of the “toddler ski school” concept: no more than about 300 meters. You can recognize a family hotel with a ski school that truly deserves the name by precisely these verifiable criteria—not by the phrase “ski school nearby.”
All hotels also bear the Kinderhotels seal, which is awarded only after rigorous quality inspections . Tested. Certified.
