Scharler family
The Scharler family runs the Kinderhotel Felben with a lot of heart, experience and genuine passion - a place that has been growing for generations. What once began as a farm has gradually become a lovingly run family hotel with tradition and vision.
Christoph and Petra Scharler have been running the hotel together with a dedicated team and the support of the whole family since 2009. Even today, you can still feel the farm roots - be it in the petting zoo, in the stables or in the friendly atmosphere. For the Scharlers, hosting is not a job, but a vocation - and you can feel it in every moment.

All rooms, the restaurant and play areas were refurbished in 2026.
A peaceful location on the outskirts of Mittersill (789 m), with a golf course, the Tauern Cycle Route, the Hohe Tauern National Park and a cross-country ski trail right on the doorstep. Six ski resorts are within 30 minutes’ reach (free ski bus to the Kitzbühel ski resort from the hotel).
The working organic farm offers fun for young and old alike. The children help the carers look after the animals, feed them or clean the stables.
44 accommodation units ranging from 1-room family rooms (from 21 m²) to 4-room family suites (from 70 m²), with a balcony or terrace and, of course, free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.
Hungry? No such thing! Breakfast and lunch buffet, coffee/tea, cake in the afternoon, non-alcoholic drinks for the whole family. HiPP baby menu for the little ones, kids' buffet in the evening, 5-course menus of choice for parents (with meat-free alternatives). Great importance is attached to Austrian products and high quality when shopping.
10 large rooms (820 m2) for children's dreams: baby care room for kids up to 2 years, 4 play and romping rooms, indoor fun park with bouncy castle, cinema with show stage, chill room for the grown-ups, softball arena, activity room with billiards, table football and table tennis as well as 8,000 m2 adventure playground, ski and toboggan hill. Children from the age of 3 weeks are looked after from Monday to Saturday.

Fitness room and programs for sports enthusiasts (e.g. Nordic walking, snowshoe hikes or Aqua Fit). On the Hohe Tauern golf course: discounts on green fees, preferential tee time reservations, HC tournaments.
Indoor pool (500 m2) with 56 m long tube slide, 115 m2 swimming pool with integrated whirlpool loungers and 2 children's pools with play facilities. Large sunbathing area and additional sunbathing lawn on the roof. Wellnessalm with various saunas, steam grotto, indoor Kneipp path, Sonnenstadl, Sternguckeralm and large relaxation areas with indoor alpine meadow covering a total of 700 m2. Treatments in the soft pack lounger or massages and herbal baths provide additional relaxation. Also: children's massages as well as cosmetics, manicures and pedicures.
Just in case - the hospital and pediatrician are right in Mittersill.
Bicycles, bicycle helmets, Nordic walking poles, toboggans, snowshoes as well as cross-country and children's ski equipment for the children's ski course on the hotel's own Felben glacier can be borrowed free of charge from the hotel.
Activities
We are a children's hotel. But we are also an actively managed farm. The latter has always been the case, as our history is closely linked to a centuries-old farm. Or rather: it began with a farm.
From Monday to Saturday, our popular pony rides take place as part of the childcare program - lovingly accompanied and ideal for first experiences on horseback.
Riding lessons can also be booked: From saddle gnomes for the little ones to lungeing and group lessons for advanced riders of all ages.
Our ski course for children takes place directly on the hotel grounds from Monday to Friday. Professional ski instructors accompany the first turns in the snow - safely, playfully and with lots of fun.
The hotel's own practice slope is ideal for beginners and makes it particularly easy to get started on the slopes.
Our 56-metre-long tube slide in the swimming pool offers plenty of fun for young and old. In safe, heated water, you can glide through exciting bends and tunnels.

Im Spielzimmer Bauernhof können Kinder im Softplay-Bereich klettern, rutschen und sich austoben. Lego, Duplo, Puppenküche sowie Mal- und Basteltische laden zum kreativen Spielen ein. Für lustige Momente sorgen drei Zerrspiegel, die Groß und Klein in Länge und Breite verändern.
In der Niederalm können Kinder in der Softplayanlage klettern, balancieren und ihre Geschicklichkeit ausprobieren. In der Mini-Bauernhof-Spielecke gibt es viel zu entdecken und zu spielen. Ein eigenes Kinder-WC ist ebenfalls vorhanden.
In der Gaudialm ist Bewegung angesagt: Auf dem Hindernisparcours und in der Indoor-Softplayanlage können Kinder klettern, balancieren und ihre Geschicklichkeit testen. Auf der Hüpfburg darf nach Herzenslust gehüpft und getobt werden.
Im Aktivraum ist für Abwechslung gesorgt: Bei Tischtennis, Billard, Tischfußball und Tischhockey können Kinder und Eltern gemeinsam spielen und kleine Wettkämpfe austragen. Auch Darts steht bereit und kann unter Aufsicht der Eltern gespielt werden.
In der Softballarena ist Treffsicherheit gefragt: An zwei Maschinen können sich die Kinder weiche Bälle zuspielen und dabei zielen, ausweichen und jede Menge Spaß haben. Ein actionreiches Spielerlebnis, bei dem Bewegung und Geschicklichkeit im Mittelpunkt stehen.
Im Felben Filmtheater finden mehrmals pro Woche Kinovorstellungen mit altersgerechten Kinderfilmen statt. Außerdem wird hier gemeinsam mit den Betreuern die Felben-Show aufgeführt und bei fröhlichen Mottopartys gefeiert.
In Klaras Werkstatt können Kinder ihrer Kreativität freien Lauf lassen. Mit unterschiedlichen Materialien wird gebastelt, gemalt und gestaltet – auch mit Holz. Beim gemeinsamen Backen und Kochen entstehen außerdem kleine Köstlichkeiten.
Der Chillraum ist speziell für Teenies reserviert – zum Entspannen und Abhängen, ganz ohne Eltern und jüngere Geschwister. PlayStations sowie eine TV- und Musikanlage sorgen für Unterhaltung und eine lockere Auszeit unter Gleichaltrigen.
Die Hochalm bietet viel Platz für Ball- und Bewegungsspiele – besonders dann, wenn das Wetter draußen einmal nicht mitspielt. Hier können aktive Kinder gemeinsam spielen, sich bewegen und nach Herzenslust austoben.
