From early June to mid-October, family adventures begin right outside the door of Maria Family Basecamp Dolomites. At 1,600 metres, families enjoy fresh mountain air, beautiful nature and pleasant temperatures – perfect for being active outdoors together.
In early summer, the mountains around Latemar burst into life. During the height of summer, our high-altitude location provides refreshing temperatures, while autumn brings clear mountain days, golden light and spectacular views of the Dolomites.
Hiking, biking, climbing, reaching the summit of a Dolomite peak or simply exploring nature together: our Basecamp in Obereggen is the perfect starting point for adventures big and small in the mountains.
And at the end of an action-packed day, it’s time to return to Basecamp – to play, relax, enjoy good food and simply spend time together.

Winter
Winter Adventures at 1,600 Metres – Right by the Slopes
From the end of November until after the Easter holidays, Maria Family Basecamp Dolomites becomes a winter Basecamp for snow adventurers of all ages. At 1,600 metres and just a few steps from the slopes, your ski day begins practically right outside the door.
The family-friendly Latemar–Obereggen ski area is part of Dolomiti Superski and offers modern lifts, perfectly groomed slopes and reliable snow conditions up to 2,400 metres. Ideal for kids making their first turns, relaxed ski days with the whole family and more challenging runs for those looking for an extra thrill.
And winter here has even more to offer: tobogganing, night tobogganing, night skiing and other snow adventures turn the mountains into a playground beyond the ski slopes too.
Thanks to our high-altitude location, families can enjoy reliable winter sports conditions from the end of November until after the Easter holidays – along with sunshine, spectacular mountain scenery and the South Tyrolean way of life that makes a winter holiday in the Dolomites so special.
After an exciting day in the snow, it’s time to return to your warm Basecamp – to play, relax, enjoy good food and simply spend time together.
