Our family-run 4-star superior hotel is idyllically situated in Mittersill in Salzburger Land and is a true vacation paradise for young and old.
Whether riding ponies on the hotel's own organic farm, playing in 10 different indoor play areas, letting off steam in the 8000m² adventure playground or taking a dip in the cool waters of our indoor swimming pool with 56m tube slide - children's hearts beat faster with us! Scharler family
The Scharler family runs the Kinderhotel Felben with a lot of heart, experience and genuine passion - a place that has been growing for generations. What once began as a farm has gradually become a lovingly run family hotel with tradition and vision.
Christoph and Petra Scharler have been running the hotel together with a dedicated team and the support of the whole family since 2009. Even today, you can still feel the farm roots - be it in the petting zoo, in the stables or in the friendly atmosphere. For the Scharlers, hosting is not a job, but a vocation - and you can feel it in every moment.

All rooms, the restaurant and play areas were refurbished in 2026.
A peaceful location on the outskirts of Mittersill (789 m), with a golf course, the Tauern Cycle Route, the Hohe Tauern National Park and a cross-country ski trail right on the doorstep. Six ski resorts are within 30 minutes’ reach (free ski bus to the Kitzbühel ski resort from the hotel).
The working organic farm offers fun for young and old alike. The children help the carers look after the animals, feed them or clean the stables.
44 accommodation units ranging from 1-room family rooms (from 21 m²) to 4-room family suites (from 70 m²), with a balcony or terrace and, of course, free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel.
Hungry? No such thing! Breakfast and lunch buffet, coffee/tea, cake in the afternoon, non-alcoholic drinks for the whole family. HiPP baby menu for the little ones, kids' buffet in the evening, 5-course menus of choice for parents (with meat-free alternatives). Great importance is attached to Austrian products and high quality when shopping.

Just in case - the hospital and pediatrician are right in Mittersill.
Bicycles, bicycle helmets, Nordic walking poles, toboggans, snowshoes as well as cross-country and children's ski equipment for the children's ski course on the hotel's own Felben glacier can be borrowed free of charge from the hotel.
Play areas
In the Bauernhof playroom, children can climb, slide and let off steam in the soft play area. LEGO, DUPLO, a play kitchen and tables for arts and crafts inspire creative play. Three funhouse mirrors add to the laughter, making children and adults alike look taller, shorter, wider or slimmer.
In the Niederalm, children can climb, balance and test their skills in the soft play area. The mini farm play corner offers plenty to explore and enjoy. There is also a dedicated children’s toilet.
The Gaudialm is all about active fun: children can climb, balance and test their skills on the obstacle course and in the indoor soft play area. The bouncy castle offers plenty of space to bounce and let off steam to their hearts’ content.
The chill-out room is reserved exclusively for teenagers – a place to relax and hang out, away from parents and younger siblings. PlayStations, a TV and a music system provide entertainment and a relaxed space to unwind with others their age.

The Felben Cinema hosts screenings of age-appropriate children’s films several times a week. Children also take to the stage with the childcare team for the Felben Show and enjoy lively themed parties.
In Klara’s workshop, children can let their creativity run free. They can enjoy arts and crafts, painting and making things with a variety of materials, including wood. Baking and cooking together also give them the chance to create delicious little treats.
The Hochalm offers plenty of space for ball games and active play – especially when the weather takes a turn. Here, energetic children can play together, get moving and let off steam to their hearts’ content.
In unserer Babyalm dreht sich alles um die Bedürfnisse der Kleinsten. Hier können Babys in Ruhe krabbeln, spielen und ihre ersten kleinen Entdeckungen machen. We are a children's hotel. But we are also an actively managed farm. The latter has always been the case, as our history is closely linked to a centuries-old farm. Or rather: it began with a farm.
From Monday to Saturday, our popular pony rides take place as part of the childcare program - lovingly accompanied and ideal for first experiences on horseback.
Riding lessons can also be booked: From saddle gnomes for the little ones to lungeing and group lessons for advanced riders of all ages.
Our ski course for children takes place directly on the hotel grounds from Monday to Friday. Professional ski instructors accompany the first turns in the snow - safely, playfully and with lots of fun.
The hotel's own practice slope is ideal for beginners and makes it particularly easy to get started on the slopes.
Our 56-metre-long tube slide in the swimming pool offers plenty of fun for young and old. In safe, heated water, you can glide through exciting bends and tunnels.

We offer age-appropriate programmes for every stage of development. Babies from just 3 months old can join our caring baby care programme, which is specially designed for children up to their second birthday.
From their second birthday, children move on to the childcare programme, where they can enjoy a variety of games, physical activities and creative fun.
From the age of 7, children join our “Big Adventurers” programme. Teenagers aged 12 and over can also enjoy activities tailored to their age group and their own chill-out room.
This ensures that every child receives individual care and support suited to their age.

Kinderhotel Felben offers comprehensive childcare seven days a week. Our childcare team is there for your children every day from 8:30 am to 8:00 pm, with a varied programme of play, physical activities, arts and crafts, and group activities.
The daily good morning dance is a special way to start the day, kicking off the activity programme at 9:45 am. It brings children together for an active start to a day full of holiday adventures.
Special activities are also regularly offered for older children and teenagers. Depending on the activity, these occasionally run until 9:00 pm, providing even more variety and exciting experiences.
With childcare available throughout the day, children at Kinderhotel Felben can enjoy a varied programme while parents find time to relax, enjoy the spa or spend time together.
Kinderhotel Felben offers families a varied childcare programme throughout the year, with exciting activities, creative fun and shared adventures. Many activities take place in both summer and winter, creating unforgettable holiday memories.
In summer, the programme includes plenty of outdoor activities. Particular favourites include earning a golf buggy driving licence, exciting pony outings, cycling lessons and water games in the playground. Building dams together, blowing bubbles and many more nature-based and active adventures provide plenty of fun in the fresh air.
In winter, children can look forward to an equally varied range of highlights. These include inflatable boat rides in the snow, night-time tobogganing, ski lessons and baking delicious biscuits and other treats together. Many more activities for different age groups complete the winter programme.

Kinderhotel Felben offers families a wide range of outdoor activities right on the hotel grounds. At its heart is the car-free adventure playground covering around 8,000 m², where children of all ages can play, explore and let off steam.
Highlights include a large, covered sandpit with plenty of toys, an impressive climbing frame with slides, wobbly bridges and climbing nets, as well as several swings and a zip wire. There is also a football pitch, a water play area, a pump track and a wide range of vehicles, including bicycles, ride-on cars, scooters and pedal tractors.
Right next to the playground is Klara’s Ark, the hotel’s own petting zoo. Here, children can get up close to the animals and visit them at any time.
Bicycles and cycle helmets for adults and children can be borrowed free of charge for family outings. Bicycle trailers and child bike seats are also available, making it easy for the whole family to explore the surrounding area.

At Kinderhotel Felben, children and families can get up close to a wide variety of animals. The hotel’s own petting zoo, Klara’s Ark, is home to a range of lovingly cared-for animals that guests can visit every day.
These include alpacas, sheep, goats, rabbits and chickens. Here, children can learn through play how to treat animals with respect and discover more about each species.
The adjoining organic farm is also home to horses and ponies, which play an important part in the childcare programme and riding activities. Families can also see the farm’s cows and calves.
