A ski vacation is a perfect family vacation. You should consider a few things before booking so that your personal vacation is sure to live up to all expectations. Children from the age of 3 are ready to learn to ski. Many of the children’s hotels also a diaper ski school. Kids from the age of 2 are put together in small groups of maximum five children to prepare them for their first turns on the skis. Equipment that fits perfectly is important. As kids grow fast, it is advisable to get the skis on site at the ski rental shop. This way, the young talents can enjoy new and maintained equipment every year. Helmets are compulsory up to and including 15 years of age on the slopes in Austria.
Ideally, the hotel is on the ski slope or very close to it. The way to the ski school should also not be too far away. In addition to skiing, children like to play in the snow: when it gets cold or the clothes have gotten wet, it is an advantage to get the kids to dry surroundings quickly.
The family ski vacation should also include days off. Ice skating rinks, winter hikes, tobogganing or horse sleigh rides offer great variety and adventure value. Inform yourself in advance what leisure options there are in the respective area.
