That is why the member establishments in the most beautiful vacation regions in Austria, Italy and Croatia are investing heavily in a green future for their young guests.
Photovoltaics and hydropower
Photovoltaics: Green energy from sunlight
More and more member establishments of Original Kinderhotels Europa are using photovoltaics to make their energy supply sustainable. Photovoltaic systems on the roofs of the hotels convert sunlight into clean, renewable energy and thus actively contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions. This environmentally friendly technology enables the hotels to cover their own energy requirements largely from renewable sources and thus significantly reduce the ecological footprint of their operations.
Hydropower: own power plants for green energy
Some establishments go one step further and operate their own hydroelectric power plants in order to make their energy supply completely sustainable. With this form of energy generation from natural bodies of water, hotels can not only cover their electricity needs, but also contribute to the conservation of natural resources and the preservation of local ecosystems. The use of hydropower provides a constant, reliable source of energy that is available all year round and produces no emissions.
Climate-friendly arrival
Kinderhotels Original Europa also focus on environmentally friendly mobility in order to minimize the ecological footprint of their guests. Numerous member establishments offer a special service for a climate-friendly journey. For example, hotels such as the Hotel Kesselgrub in Salzburger Land or the Pitzis Kinderhotel in Tyrol pick up guests arriving by train from the train station free of charge. This initiative makes it possible for guests to travel in a comfortable and environmentally friendly way.
If a car is still needed on site, some hotels offer their guests the option of renting a fully electric vehicle. In addition, all Kinderhotels Original Europa hotels are equipped with a charging station for e-cars. Scooters and e-bikes can also recharge their batteries at the hotel's own electric charging stations, offering guests additional environmentally friendly mobility options on site.
Austrian Ecolabel
Some of our member businesses (Familienhotel Kreuzwirt am Weissensee, Heidi Hotel Falkertsee, Familien-Sport-Resort Brennseehof) have been awarded the renowned Austrian Ecolabel. This award stands for the highest standards in environmental friendliness, quality and social responsibility and is a visible sign of our commitment to sustainable tourism.
