Hosts with heart, tradition and lots of experience
We are proud that our family is one of the 4 founding families of the Kinderhotels and frankly, it was my merit, because vacationing with me was simply very tedious. That's what led to the aforementioned foundation. Of course, as a host family we also spend time on organization and office work, but we prefer to be out and about in nature with our guests. I (Peter) do fish trips, pirate boat trips, explorers on the lake, M-bike tours and children's climbing, my mother Eva hikes to the surrounding mountain pastures, my father Uli does the floating lake crossing and fish smoking. Autumn
In Carinthia, on the southern side of the Alps, the Mediterranean influence ensures exceptionally warm and sunny days in the fall. As K.u.K. Hoffischer, our family has been closely connected to the lake and nature on a daily basis for over 100 years. Guided family hike on the Jufen once a week. The trail is not suitable for baby carriages, but is easily accessible with back carriers or slings. Ascent: around 35 minutes.
Der Familienausflug auf unsere eigene Almhütte am Millstätter Berg ist ein Highlight für Klein und Groß. Mit den Kinderbetreuern führt eine gemeinsame ca 40 min. Familienwanderung auf die Alm, für sportliche geht’s 2,5 Stunden direkt vom Familienhotel Post durch die Schlucht und die Bike begeisterten strampeln mit Peter hinauf. Oben bereitet Burgi am Lagerfeuer frischen Kaiserschmarrn zu.
Die Millstätter Alm beherbergt das größte Granatvorkommen der Alpen. Donnerstags lädt Andrea zur Granatstein-Wanderung ein, die von der Lammersdorfer Hütte zum Jufenkreuz führt. Unterwegs lassen sich Granatsteine entdecken. Am Gipfel erwartet ein beeindruckendes Panorama über den Millstätter See. Zurück im Hotel wird in der Werkstatt aus den gesammelten Steinen eine individuelle Halskette gefertig
Holz ist die Leidenschaft unseres geschätzten Hausmeisters Gerolf. Jeden Mittwoch veranstaltet Gerolf ein besonderes Bastelprogramm für Kinder, bei dem er die Unterschiede zwischen weichem und hartem Holz erklärt, hilfreiche Tipps und Tricks verrät und die kleinen Künstler dazu inspiriert, ihre eigenen kreativen Projekte zu erschaffen.
